The Danelectro DC-2 is one of the unsung heroes of Rock, Blues, and Country from the 50’s-70’s, but what about the 3-pickup DC-3? Cropping up in the late 50’s, DC-3 added a middle pickup to the whole affair, allowing for even more sounds than it’s more popular 2-pickup cousin. When Danelectro brought back its mid-century mojo to the guitar-buying masses in the 90’s, they had to resurrect the DC-3. Unlike the DC-3’s of the late 50’s however, those of the 90’s/2000’s (like this one) featured an innovative switching system, allowing you to select any combination of the pickups through the use of the rotary “Select-o-matic”. Not enough tonal variety for ya? Flip that switch and you’re getting ALL 3 pickups in series! Turns the 3 lipsticks into one super charged humbucker, with a nice volume and power increase to boot! Sockhop like it’s 1959 with the Danelectro DC-3!
This guitar weighs 5LBs 12oz
For a guitar from 2001, this is in immaculate shape! No cracks, dings, scratches, or scuffs. The binding tape is also in great shape with no lifts or tears. There is a seam where the strap button is installed (a common construction quirk of these 90’s/2000’s Danos) and a small mark also by the strap button. Frets are in really nice shape. The Aqua Sparkle looks even better in person! Comes with TKL hardcase.
