The Suhr Custom Classic T – Exotic Koa is a masterfully crafted instrument that brings together boutique tonewoods, custom-shop attention to detail, and the versatile performance expected from Suhr guitars. Built in Suhr’s California custom shop, this model showcases a stunning figured koa top over a lightweight chambered alder body, producing a tone that’s both rich and articulate with enhanced resonance.

The figured koa top is more than just visually striking—it adds a natural high-end shimmer and a touch of midrange warmth, perfectly complementing the balanced tone of the alder body. The body contours, including arm, hand, and tummy cuts, provide excellent ergonomics for long playing sessions, while the gloss finish enhances both visual depth and protection.

This guitar is equipped with a pair of Suhr humbuckers: an SSV in the neck and an SSH in the bridge, both in gold finish. These pickups offer a broad tonal palette—from warm, vintage-style cleans to tight, modern gain tones. A push-pull tone knob lets you split both humbuckers, unlocking authentic single-coil sparkle when needed. A 3-way blade switch with a black barrel tip provides quick and intuitive control over pickup selection.

The neck is a one-piece roasted flame maple construction with a satin finish for a smooth, fast feel. The 11″-16″ compound radius fingerboard with extra rolled edges ensures modern comfort and effortless playability across all 22 heavy stainless steel frets. Black side dots and minimalist 12th fret face dots offer clear reference without cluttering the aesthetic.

Hardware choices are equally high-end. A gold Suhr 2-post tremolo bridge with a steel block and solid saddles delivers excellent tuning stability and sustain. Gold Suhr locking tuners keep string changes quick and reliable. All hardware—from the control plate to the Electrosocket jack—is finished in gold, complementing the koa top beautifully.
