This was part of a 700-piece run that highlighted reclaimed and salvaged woods on one of PRS’s most versatile platforms, the “Special”. Each top is left as natural as possible, allowing its individual character to shine through – nail holes, wear, and discoloration included, making every instrument truly one of a kind. Finished in satin nitro and left Natural in color, this model pairs striking visual history with a remarkably wide tonal range, from articulate single-coil sparkle to full, vintage-inspired humbucking warmth.

The tonewoods tell a story all their own. The top is crafted from Peroba Rosa, 100–150-year-old wood traditionally used as siding in Brazil, whose density combined with the semi-hollow construction produces a voice that is punchy, warm, and full. The Cuban mahogany neck, sourced from Puerto Rico (with some material salvaged from trees downed during Hurricane Maria in 2017), adds depth and sustain, while the Guaribu Preto fretboard, historically used as structural beams in Brazilian homes, offers a smooth feel and focused response. Together, these reclaimed materials create an instrument rich in resonance and heritage.

It’s a guitar built not only with remarkable materials, but with a story in every note and virtually endless sonic possibilities.
