Martin built several models geared for the Hawaiian music craze of the 20s and 30s. They were all similar to their respective Spanish playing models. Martin changed these features ( thicker neck construction, high nuts, flush frets and straight saddle bridges). Martin never used square necks like other companies. This model received it’s first showing in the Martin catalog in 1937, but production ranged from 1935-1941. Most of the 00-18H models have shaded tops. 128 of this model were built in 1937. Barring its new bridge this one is mostly original and sounds nice. With newer semi-hard shell case (slightly oversized). On consignment.
