The Limited Edition Collection from Gibson Custom celebrates standout moments in the brand’s history—limited-run guitars inspired by years of Made to Measure requests and the boundless creativity of the artisans at the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville. The 1957 Les Paul™ Reissue Sweet Green Shift Top Gloss exemplifies that spirit, blending vintage-correct specifications with a bold, modern aesthetic.
At the heart of this reissue is a maple top finished in a vivid Sweet Green Shift gloss—an eye-catching color that subtly changes hue depending on light and viewing angle. It is paired with a solid mahogany body and single-ply binding, delivering the warmth, sustain, and unmistakable Les Paul silhouette players expect.
The mahogany neck features the sought-after 1959 Carmelita profile, known for its slightly slimmer feel and comfortable taper. A long neck tenon ensures solid contact and enhanced resonance, while the rosewood fretboard with aged celluloid trapezoid inlays adds period-correct authenticity. With a 12” radius and 22 medium jumbo frets, the guitar is built for expressive bends and smooth, articulate playability.
Electronics consist of a matched set of Custombucker Alnico 3 humbucker™ pickups, delivering rich, dynamic tone with vintage clarity and punch. Wired with two volume and two tone controls using CTS® potentiometers and a Switchcraft® 3-way toggle, the instrument offers a wide tonal range—from warm, rounded neck tones to cutting bridge pickup leads.
Hardware appointments include a nickel ABR-1 bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, Kluson® Deluxe tuners, nickel pickup covers, and black plastic components throughout. Black Top Hat knobs and the open-book headstock with a mother-of-pearl Gibson logo complete the classic presentation.
The 1957 Les Paul Reissue Sweet Green Shift Top Gloss ships in a reissue hardshell case and represents a distinctive fusion of historic craftsmanship and modern visual flair—designed to inspire and built to perform.
