Completely revoiced by Taylor Master Build Andy Powers in 2015, Taylor’s line of maple guitars are making a comeback among players looking for the bloom, touch sensitivity and transparency that this unique tonewood provides. Thanks in part to the torrefaction process, in which the guitar’s spruce top is roasted with UV light to accelerate the aging process, the 614ce offers a played-in sound right out of the box, rich with warmth, complexity and sustain matched with gorgeous aesthetics that include a hand-rubbed Brown Sugar stain.

Maple’s transparent tone gives the player plenty of musical flexibility, reflecting the specific style and approach that sets each guitarist apart. With V-Class bracing under the soundboard, you’ll hear blooming sustain and robust volume, helping maple avoid its “boxy,” contained reputation, making the 614ce a truly individual guitar even within the Taylor lineup.
