This Used 1958 Gibson Les Paul Jr. D.C. in Cherry is on consignment from the personal collection of our longest-tenured employee, George MacPhail. The body shows off the wear of a guitar that has been played but was treated well over the years. The neck is straight, the original frets are hanging in there, and the truss rod functions properly.
The frets, finish, and electronics are all original. The original bridge broke, so George replaced it with a Music City Bridge. The tuners were swapped out at some point, and the tuner holes were reamed larger. George put the original tuners back on, along with some conversion bushings. So, the guitar currently has its original tuners.
This is a great-sounding vintage guitar, loaded with all the vibe and mojo you could possibly want. Even though the single P90 Pickup limits this guitar’s tonal palette, that single P90 sounds SO good that you won’t miss the neck pickup! It barks and nites with the best of them and then cleans up and purrs with the volume and tone backed off. Not to mention (though I guess I’m mentioning it), it’s in pretty darn nice shape for its age as well. If you know George, you know how he takes care of things!
