Vintage-Inspired Design with Modern Precision – The Spector Ian Allison NS-2 Signature Electric Bass Guitar – Sepia Burst 1
Ian Martin Allison envisioned these basses as a tribute to a bygone era, with colors and textures reminiscent of old photographs and antique maps. The Sepia Burst finish is a nod to that concept, as well as one to the beloved Antigua finishes of the 1970s, bringing a sense of nostalgia while maintaining a modern appeal. Adorning the fingerboard are the iconic Spector crown inlays, however these inlays are made from clay, a first for Spector! This attention to detail extends to the electronics as well; the pickups are strategically placed closer to the fingerboard, evoking the warmth and character of classic ’70s basses. Paired with the legendary Spector HAZ 9V preamp, this configuration offers an impressive range of tonal versatility.
Introducing the Limited-Edition Spector x Ian Martin Allison Custom NS-2 Basses
A Fusion of Vintage Aesthetics and Modern Craftsmanship Spector and renowned bassist Ian Martin Allison have joined forces to create a highly exclusive run of custom NS-2 basses, available only at Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center. These basses are not just instruments; they are timeless pieces of art, blending vintage inspiration with cutting-edge design, destined to become instant collectibles.
Unique, Handpicked Woods for Unparalleled Beauty and Sound
Each bass in this collection features a top crafted from the finest Maple Burl, known for its striking three-dimensional figure and exceptional tonal properties. The Swamp Ash body provides a resonant, balanced foundation, while the Indian Rosewood fingerboard adds warmth and depth to the sound.
Top-of-the-Line Hardware for Ultimate Performance
Completing the retro vibe, these NS-2 basses are equipped with reissued Badass I bridges and Schaller tuners, both with bold gold finish, harking back to Spector’s iconic Brooklyn era. The custom-wound Olinto Super Polished strings by La Bella combine the punch of stainless steel with the smooth feel of flat-wounds, ensuring a playing experience that is as comfortable as it is dynamic.
Exclusivity and Craftsmanship
Only three of these uniquely crafted NS-2 basses were made, and one of them has already joined Ian’s personal collection. That means only a pair of these instruments are available for purchase, each a testament to Spector’s commitment to quality and Ian Martin Allison’s visionary approach to bass design.
