Vintage Revival – The Gibson Murphy Lab 1958 Les Paul Junior Double-Cut, Gold Hardware in Watermelon King – CHUCKSCLUSIVE
Chuck Levin’s has brought everyone to the table with the Watermelon King Series to share the sweetest collection of acoustic and electric guitars you’ve ever tasted!
We’ve always loved the delicious watermelon red finish available on Gibson’s ES-335, and if it was up to us we’d put that color on every guitar. So we did! Chuck Levin’s has brought everyone to the table with the Watermelon King Series, sharing the sweetest collection of acoustic and electric guitars you’ve ever seen, or tasted!
Not wanting to leave anybody out, we invited Gibson’s Murphy Lab, Fender’s Custom Shop, and Taylor Guitars to the table, challenging each of them to dream up their own flavor of watermelon red. The end result is a mouth-watering array of 18 different guitars and basses – everything from Les Paul to Trini Lopez and Stratocasters to Jazzmasters! Our guitar shop also added custom color-coordinated bridge pins to the Taylor 414ce as a fun little flourish!
The name for this exciting collection came from a newspaper clipping featuring a photo of Marge Levin and her father, Al Lipshultz. Al had presented a mammoth watermelon to his local farmer’s market, earning him the title of “Watermelon King.” The color, Al’s fun title, and the idea of bringing our friends to the table to share something sweet was the inspiration we needed!
We love that every instrument in this collection is a bit different – the color being uniquely interpreted by the craftspeople involved. Each instrument will include a unique Watermelon King Series COA, some fun swag, and of course the warm vibes that come with sharing all the good things with friends and family.
The Watermelon King Series is available exclusively at Chuck Levin’s.
