Fun facts – The Jazzmaster is actually the 1st Fender guitar to have a rosewood fingerboard, and was originally designed for the jazz market. Jazz players never truly adopted it, but it was a home run for surf guitarists! This Custom Shop ’62 Jazzmaster Relic is a cool nod to the original – and of course, to all the surf, rock, punk, postpunk and alt/indie music, and to all musicians currently playing it cool on stages across the planet.

This one has a worn Heavy Relic® lacquer finish treatment on its 2-piece Ash body, with a rift-sawn maple neck featuring a 7.25”-radius round-lam rosewood fingerboard and 21 medium jumbo (6150) frets. These Custom Shop Jazzmaster pickups are hand-wound to vintage specifications that produce a distinctively mellow tone. Its vintage wiring includes a three-way toggle switch, two separate volume/tone controls and a lead/rhythm switch.

Other features include a four-ply brown shell pickguard, an RSD J-Bridge with compensated brass saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, and a bone nut. This edition includes a deluxe hardshell case, strap and Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity.
